West Palm Beach, Florida, also known as West Palm, is located in Palm Beach County. It is the county seat of Palm Beach County, hence its nickname as the “Capitol City of the Palm Beaches." The land was intended to house workers for his luxury hotels. On November 5, 1894 the Town of West Palm Beach was incorporated in what was then Dade County. The city grew rapidly during the Florida land boom. Today, West Palm Beach offers visitors to the city family-friendly, fun attractions, including the Palm Beach Zoo, the South Florida Science Museum, and world-class beaches and fishing.
